While I lay full awake at 6:00 in the morning (counting sheep)
People slept
Went to work
Died
Got Up
Showered
Cried
And felt nothing but the desire for love from anyone
While I lay full awake at 6:03 AM (counting ceiling tiles)
Someone woke
Got off work
Hurt
Cooked
Ate
Stirred
A coffee with cream and two sugars
Ain't life lived in a-billion unnoticed seconds that walk by on little silent paws.
SEWANEE GIRLS ARE 2ND, MEN ARE 4TH.
Well, unfortunately Shelley got the Flu the first day of the meet and was in pretty bad shape for the whole meet. She swam some good times the first day, and set a school record with the 200 Free Relay Team and got a gold medal there, but her times were not as fast as she expected, due to the sickness. By the second day, she was really feeling awful and scratched from the 200 Free (should have been her best individual event) and the 800 free relay. The last day found her a little better, but in the 100 free prelim's almost passed out after her race and only qualified 8th. Like a trooper though, she swam a slow finals and got the points for 8th place. The last big event was the 400 free relay. She said she felt ok so the coach let her swim. They unbelievably set a SCAC record and a school record (Lizzy Land, Lauren Tayor, Shelley Akers, and Katie Davis- 3:36.18) and also had a NCAA B qualifying time. Hopefully they will be able to swim in the NCAA meet in 2 weeks.
